The Lake Kivu:
Lake Kivu is the biggest lake in Rwanda, stretching all the way from the southern town of Cyangugu to the northern town of Gisenyi.
In between, is the holiday resort town of Kibuye, has become popular as a place for quiet holidays for Kigali city residents, and the visiting foreign tourists.
The road from Cyangugu to Kibuye and to Gisenyi meanders along the irregular and heavily indented shorelines of Lake Kivu, providing panoramic views of the lake, and the hilly countryside.
Visitors to Lake Kivu have the choice of traveling by road, or by the more comfortable and faster motorboats between the three towns of Cyangugu, Kibuye, and Gisenyi.
